From the site:
Who We Are
Rue La La is an exciting new division of Retail Convergence, Inc., a portfolio of e-commerce companies leveraging a common technology platform, customer database, and management team to revolutionize online shopping.
We are people who love shopping. We are seasoned experts in the retail world who bring passion, experience, and a fresh perspective. We’ve built the connections required to negotiate private sale prices on some of the most sought after brands in fashion and home. And we have the exacting standards required to create and present our own carefully edited collections of premier brand looks in fashion and home.
We are people who love style, whether it’s a well-delivered retort, a perfectly frothed cappuccino, or the star offering from a favorite runway designer.
Above all, we are people who love discovery. It’s the unexpected that pleases us the most. Something new, different, whimsical. A fresh twist on a classic. A find that surpasses expectations and just begs to be shared.
(Oh, and we are people who think we can have it all at fabulous prices.)
Our dream is for Rue La La to become the place where your ooh la la moments spring forth at every turn, the spot where your desire for the exceptional is fulfilled every time, and the destination that you just can’t wait to share.
We thought it was high time for a shopping revolution.
Umm…I’m all for pushing the boundaries when it comes to style, but I pray this look from the most recent Top Shop Style Notes doesn’t catch on…
Hear that sound? That’s your monobrow blowing in the breeze. Could someone get these ladies some tweezers, please?
Received this email today from CEO of RueLaLa, Ben Fischman. Very classy, Mr. Fischman.
If you’d like to donate to the Red Cross as he suggests, please click here.
You can also text “Yele” to the number 501501. If you send the text, the Yele Haiti organization (Founded by Wyclef Jean) will receive $5. The amount will be added to your next cell phone bill.

Rue La La is… an exclusive, invitation-only online destination where Members discover premier-brand, private sale Boutiques, each open for just a brief window of time. Our focus is a well-edited collection of sought-after offerings from the best brand names in the world – combined with helpful service.

You can find great deals on many designers for Men’s and Women’s items.
For instance, this nice Corneliani tweed jacket is marked down to $399 from $1,395…
And for the ladies, some sexy brown Botkier boots marked down to $249 from $595…
The brand selection changes all the time. Should we be talking about buying things in these trying economic times? Yes! Stimulate the economy, baby! (Just do like Wilma and Betty – charge it!!! PS – I’m not to be held responsible for your credit score. I can’t afford this stuff either, but it’s fun to look! It lends detail to your fantasies.)
Headed over to this sample sale in about an hour…
You should come, too. However, try to come between me and an Armani suit at 80% off and I will drop-kick you in the face.
I don’t know if this sale is nation-wide or even all of NYC, but the Rockefeller Center Banana Republic is having a “Buy 2 Sale Items-Get 1 Free” Sale.
I picked up a couple of nice dress slacks and a sweater for $50. Not a bad haul (seemed expecially so to me since I’d just browsed the designer section at Saks 5th Ave – holy shit those prices are ridiculous! $400 for a t-shirt? wow).
Sorry I don’t have more details – you might want to call ahead to see if your local store is participating since I couldn’t find anything about it on the BR website.
Also, I asked and you can buy 4 items and get 2 free, buy 6 and get 3 free, and so on. Just buy strategically because they’ll only give you the cheapest of your selections for free. Don’t screw yourself by grabbing 4 items because you picked up a $9 t-shirt on the way to the register (they’ll charge you full sale price for the 3 items and give you the stupid t-shirt free).
Have a good weekend!
As part of USA’s promotion of their new show “White Collar,” they’ve set up a “White Collar Shirt Bar” in Rockefeller Center where you can receive a custom-fitted white collar shirt (men and women). We’re not talking about any old shirt either, these shirts are being provided by PINK!
Today and tomorrow only (Oct 22-23). For more details click here.
I popped over to check it out and there is line with a wait time of about an hour. I wish I had time to wait, because an hour long wait for a free bespoke Thomas Pink is totally worth it to me.
I glanced at this article’s title, something about Kanye not coming out, and thought “Oh, come on man, just do it. You’re not fooling anybody, anyway.” Turns out its about something altogether different.
Today’s Style Notes email subject heading was: Make a Style Statement.
Apparently, that statement is: “Once I’m finished making it, this gorilla costume is gonna be great!”
Top Shop – Style Notes – Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
