About the Music:
I am a singer/songwriter based in New York City. My music has elements of pop, rock, and soul that defies categorization and yet seems familiar. Check out the music by clicking HERE.
I am the 2nd child of Marsha and Marv (my sister, Lisa, came first – her band’s name is Jiffy). Mom was an exotic dancer. Dad was a DJ. Listening to Dad’s record collection gave me an education in rock, soul, pop, and anything else that moved people. I grew up listening to artists like Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, The Beatles, Dr. Hook, and the Muppets. Yes, Jim Henson’s Muppets. These influences (and new inspirations I’ve discovered along the way) shaped how I make music: from the heart, respectful of the songwriting craft as art-form, a touch of whimsy, and a lot of drama.
Born and raised in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area until I moved East to New York at age 19 to pursue dreams larger than my home town could provide for me. This town has beaten the hell out of me at times, revitalized me at others, and given me an education that only life in New York City can provide. Here I am – a few bands later, a few bars wiser, and lot of songs closer to the truth. If such a thing exists.
About the Actor:
I moved to the Big Apple to attend AMDA. Beyond AMDA I’ve completed training at NYC’s The Acting Studio, with a focus on Meisner technique and other facets of acting. I am an active member of Chelsea Rep Theater, recently appearing the NYC Fringe Festival performances of By Unknown Hands. I’ve appeared in a number of stage productions, some web projects, and some commercial work.
I am currently writing a musical based upon my parents’ strange and beautiful love story.
